Leadership

Leadership and Me

Currently I am reading what I interpret (you interpretation might be different) two opposite approaches to aspects of Planning

You have this here in NZ: Power Shift

And this from the USA:

Chalk and Cheese stuff here folks in what both sides believe in.

And this is where the issue for someone like me comes in.

See I am or identify myself (outside of being a Christian) as a Social Liberal (well the Political Compass thinks I am after 9 tests) which in this case would put me down the sustainable smart growth path. However I also agree with aspects of the Democrats Against UN Agenda 21 in the belief our planning rules should be more liberal, private property rights are respected and democracy should be easy to access (which it is most certainly not in Auckland) which would dump me on the Neo Liberal side of politics.

So you ask – now what?

This is where leadership (proper) comes into place. A leader should be able to: lead, enter dialogue, facilitate, command, back down, be open and honest, as well as agree to disagree and move forward. Meaning a true leader should able to facilitate and encompass both sides of a debate, situation and/or problem rather than solely facilitating just their own little piece of whatever it maybe.

Where am I going with this?

Will let you know soon enough once I go check up on two things.

Stay Tuned folks
