Err-What
I got told yesterday by the Deputy Mayor that the Karaka-Weymouth Bridge was removed from the Unitary Plan draft maps and even have the PDF to prove it:
However someone forgot to tell Dr Google:
Seems the bridge and link road are already there – we just don’t know it.
Roll eyes material there Google :p

i checked google maps again yesterday. the bridge has gone but the existing weymouth rd is still marked as highway 17. there is still a weymouth karaka bridge highway but this time it starts at the paerata rd and glenbrook rd intersection and ends in the middle of farmland near urquhart rd.
So I see and as I got alerted to this morning on Facebook.
I wonder if it is back because of the Government’s Housing Accord release yesterday which might allow the Karaka Collective to develop their land before the Unitary Plan is in effect
that thought definitely crossed my mind too. i truly can’t imagine the karaka collective developing affordable housing for first time buyers though.
Maybe we should email google and let them in on the changes, the deputy mayor must of forgot to tell everyone else that the bridge it off!
obviously we have underestimated the influence of the collective haha.
go to the bottom left hand side of the google map and click on ‘report a problem’ and ask where they got their information from.
