An Alternative Reason on Voting (or rather not) these Local Elections

 

Dr Bryce Edwards of the Politics Department at the University of Otago wrote a piece yesterday on why voters should NOT vote at these Local Government Elections (which we know has a poor turn out currently).

You can read it below but it does fly in the face of people like myself saying “Vote or Don’t Complain.”

I have made comments before on why these elections will be nothing short of a disaster turn out wise – with voter turn out as of 4th October at 16% compared to 24.8% at this time last elections in 2010.

One thing is for sure regardless if you vote or not: 2016 we need to haul backside if we don’t want this becoming an absolute Titanic on us…
