From Manukau to Golden Banana’s
Lots of Forward Planning to Think of
And this influences the Unitary Plan
Seems there is plenty to do once we are all back from the Christmas/New Year/Summer Break:
Continuing the work on Developing a 21st Century Manukau as we move away from single housing to more suitable housing that supports a Super Metropolitan Centre (which in itself becomes one of the hubs for the Golden Banana)(so Terraced Housing and Apartments as well as Mixed Housing Urban) is one line.
The second line is picking up from the May Manukau Presentation and looking at more inter-regional planning in the area known as The Golden Banana. The Golden Banana being: Whangarei-Auckland-Hamilton-Tauranga. The Golden Banana is a major economic engine of New Zealand and is part of the area that holds 85% of New Zealand’s population. Because whatever happens planning wise within the Golden Banana directly affects where the Unitary Plan should go here now and well into the future.
So plenty to do once back from the Summer break – all on Talking Auckland
