Merry Christmas and have a safe and happy Summer Break
And so the 2013 year is nearly over, Summer is here with a hiss and a roar and before long we will be in 2014.
With the public and corporate sectors now on Summer Break until around mid January, Talking Auckland will also be going on a nice deserved Summer Break as well from today until Monday 13th January, 2014. While on break the Summer Series will be filling on with photos from around Auckland in its Summer glory.
Talking Auckland wishes readers a very Merry Christmas and many returns for 2014.

And if I was to take a quick peak into 2014 for Auckland I say it is going to be a very busy and also a successful year as well.
As a final comment on all things Council; by the looks of it and after a long discussion with a well healed strategist/campaigner the Council is slowly healing and resuming its normal functions after that saga.
How so? Even though on deep reflection (and some actual nous on Auckland Governance) it was five Councillors being rather wounded (for three it could be terminal with the other two on the path of their own redemption) instead of the 15; the Governing Body has already resolved itself to get back to the City Building phase in earnest. What makes me say that? Councillors (from all sides) re-engaging on the Manukau Super Metropolitan Centre and the Southern Initiative. It seems some are rather sick of talk and want action (cue my presentation last month where the Mayor got lampooned by me publicly).
So then I think 2014 is going to be a super busy one as City Building resumes
Have a good Summer Break All and see you again on the other side 🙂
