October 16 the Committee Meets

Photo Reference: Councillor Cathy Casey
I have put in a request to Auckland Council for a public input slot at the October 16 Auckland Development Committee. The topics I hope to cover are the following:
- Where to with Auckland’s City Building Post Election
- The City Rail Link and a funding mechanism not being explored in Auckland that would fund both the CRL and kick-start development in the City Centre area (this also ties in with points one and three)
- Reaction to the Finance and Performance Committee’s decision to sell land in Manukau City Centre and what alternative could have been taken for Manukau’s development with the Land (as it will have consequences to other Auckland Development projects on Council land across the City)
All three points tie into each other and you can find my written thoughts on those points in post-election commentary on Auckland issues here in this blog (main two being: Targeted Rate for the City Rail Link? and Why I am Unhappy, and How to Annoy The City in One Go).
If the slot is granted I will post the presentation up into the blog two days before I give the presentation itself on the 16th.
Will let you know if the slot is granted as soon as it is known
