An update

After I posted the updates to the Special Housing Area targets (thanks to Radio NZ) yesterday (Housing Going Awry – Again?) I received a communication from the Housing Project Office with some updates.
I am looking through the information over the weekend and will be going through a “walk through” early next week on the Special Housing Area updates.
What I can say though looking at the information so far is that one of the Special Housing Areas is large and I mean large.
Try the Wesley Special Housing Area in Paerata. We know it was already large at 2,000 proposed houses but the updates are now showing this SHA to be yielding 5,000 houses over 270 hectares. That would make Wesley the biggest of the SHA’s by a long shot and if I was Council I would be getting the Paerata and Drury Stations built by 2017 at the absolute latest.

More on this next week.
Update: In regards to the 10 questions I have sent the Mayor over the Alternative Transport Funding Package, I will be placing a Wednesday deadline for the Mayor to get back with the answers so I can get them up into the blog via pod cast.
