I alluded to in my previous podcast that the compact city model could be poisonous for our revenue and job generating heavy industrial complexes located on the southern Isthmus, and Southern Auckland. That is if land values increase too fast and too far owing to future planning policies stemming from an operative Unitary Plan (2016) on our heavy industrial complexes, you could seem them move to the point of even moving out of Auckland. How so? The podcast explains.

I was going to place GIS maps up showing the land valuation movements in our industrial estates but with the Council website still crashing out it makes it slightly harder to get the maps needed. Once the Council site is back to full functionality then I will update this post with some maps.
