Cautious Optimism On Auckland Transport’s Light Rail Announcement

However, Auckland Transport Better Explain the Funding and Delivery Mechanism VERY Carefully To Garner Support, Not Open Hostility

As well as the Long Term Plan launch last Friday, Auckland Transport effectively one-upped the Mayor and launched the Regional Land Transport Program otherwise known as the RLTP. While RLTP’s are normally bland for most readers it was a certain announcement that both blind sided the City but also got tongues wagging well and truly.

That announcement being light rail or trams returning to the Isthmus after an absence since 1953 when they were foolishly ripped up (and would start our roading and motorway binge to which we live with the hang over today).

My pod cast gives my tacit but cautious support and optimism on the Light Rail scheme for the Isthmus:
