Ultimately yes but we need improvements at a key level

 

John Campbell from Campbell Live asked on Twitter last night “Does the Super City work for Auckland?” The question was in relation to Wellington and surrounds facing their own amalgamation into a Super City.

The following podcast I wonder is the Super City working for Auckland:

Note: I did not include the main Council bureaucracy such as Planning. If you want an answer of that then consider them like the Governing Body insofar as not working and needing overhauling.

So what is working to a larger extent?

• CCO’s like Auckland Transport
• Local Boards but they are underfunded and need beefing up

What is not working

• Governing Body
• Committees of the Whole
• Planning Department
• Finances has me casting an eye over it at the moment as I am not liking the Long Term Plan and lack of alternative solutions that is not rates, taxes and tolls.
