Bus Interchange Now at MK3 – Yep Back To The Drawing Board AGAIN

Yep on to the third attempt at a Bus Interchange Design

I was at the Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board meeting last night as I had received a heads up they were to talk about the Manukau Interchange MK2 and subsequent Parklet project I am pursuing.

Well we need not worry about that 30 bus bay interchange any more as the MK2 designs got chucked (like the MK1 designs) for now the MK3 designs (being currently drawn up).

I wonder with the Manukau Interchange MK3 they finally might abandon the crappy saw-tooth bus bay design and go with the parallel bay design like Britomart and New Lynn?

So with Transport Levy funding pretty much on the way the funding is apparently allowing for a better design than the previous two versions seen. I also wonder what this means for the Parklets?

I won’t know for another six weeks as the Interchange MK3 heads back to workshops.

So much for Council’s Community Empowerment Scheme that has been very much taunted (and seeming we are the ones using the Interchange as well).
