Heart of the South to under-go large Wynyard Quarter like urban renewal

 

It is with great excitement that I can announce that the two Panuku Development Auckland short-listed Centres have been sent forward to the Auckland Development Committee for their endorsement. Those two Centres being:

• Manukau City Centre
• Onehunga which includes the Port of Onehunga and the Onehunga Town Centre

 

The main agenda concerning the Panuku urban renewal program (including the “Unlock” and “Support” Centres) can be seen from page 27 onwards:

Manukau as a Transform type Centre for urban Renewal by Panuku

 

And so after much anticipation Panuku has recommended to the Auckland Development Committee than Manukau City Centre – the heart of the South will be listed as one of the two big Transform project’s under Panuku’s (and the Community’s) watch. I requested and was granted Public Input on the topic so will be present at the Auckland Development Committee last week.
