Radio NZ’s Todd Niall explains the final stages of the Unitary Plan Process
Thankfully unlike Bernard Orsman Radio New Zealand’s Todd Niall spells out the final stages of the Unitary Plan processes as we reach the September-October implementation date.
Below is the commentary from Niall this morning:
I have noticed Orakei Local Board Chair Desley Simspon has changed the narrative from opposition of the Rezoning Evidence by the Council to supporting the Hearings Panel processes. To support those processes means to allow Council’s Evidence to be defended by Council against the Panel and commented on by submitters like me.
But in light of this yesterday (Minister and Prime Minister to Council: Stay the Course With the #UnitaryPlan) from the Minister time for further consultation was long over.
Avenues will still be available once the Unitary Plan goes live through appeals and Public Plan Changes. Private Plan Changes can be lodged two years after the Plan goes live.
