Auckland Council plans for 2013 election day

Auckland Council expects to announce the 2013 election progress results from 2pm on Saturday 12 October.

Progress results will be available first for the mayor, then governing body members (the 20 ward seats) and finally the 149 local board members.

Preliminary results will be announced around 9pm Saturday 12 October and the final results will be declared on Thursday 17 October.

All results will be available at www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/elections.

Aucklanders have until midday Saturday 12 October to vote using ballot boxes at the following locations:

– The electoral office (level 10, 45 Queen Street, Auckland) during normal office hours and on Saturday 12 October from 9am to midday.

–  The designated Auckland Council service centres and all libraries from today (Wednesday 9 October) to midday Saturday 12 October 2013 (except Manukau and Takapuna service centres).

 

Designated service centres include:

–  Great Barrier Island Service Centre, Hector Sanderson Road, Claris

– Henderson Service Centre, 6 Henderson Valley Road, Henderson

–  Manukau Service Centre, Ground Floor, Kotuku House, 4 Osterley Way, Manukau (on Saturday please go to the library across the road from the Manukau Service Centre)

– Orewa Service Centre, 50 Centreway Road, Orewa

–  Papakura Service Centre, 35 Coles Crescent, Papakura

–  Pukekohe Service Centre, 82 Manukau Road, Pukekohe

–  Takapuna Service Centre, 1 The Strand, Takapuna (on Saturday please go to the library next to the Takapuna Service Centre)

–  Waiheke Service Centre, 10 Belgium Street, Ostend.

Auckland Council library locations and opening times can be found at www.aucklandlibraries.govt.nz.

If you haven’t received your voting documents, you need to visit the designated Auckland Council service centre or designated library (Birkenhead, Glen Eden, Howick, Kumeu) nearest to where you live to collect special voting documents. You can also collect from the Electoral Office.

The risk I suppose I could run posting these two graphs is that the Len Brown voters who have not voted might see the graph and go – why bother on those high odds.

The point is that you vote regardless of the odds – full stop. It is your democratic duty we are fortunate to have in New Zealand compared to other places in the world.

So if you have not voted then get cracking please 🙂 Because when you vote you get to be like these cool cats ( 😛 ):
