AT HOP Daily Passes On Sale – NOW [UPDATE]

Not that Auckland Transport is making it very clear

Manukau Station
Manukau Station

Today marked the (soft) launch of the Daily Passes being available from the ticket machines scattered throughout our public transport network.

Meaning

You rock up to a ticket machine found at the rail stations (and selected bus stations) and place your AT-HOP card in the machine as would either doing a top up or loading a Monthly Pass. Except this time select first ‘Day Pass’ then either AB Zone or ABC Zone (this one if you intend to travel to and from Pukekohe otherwise select AB Zone which covers urban Auckland).

The price of $16 for the AB Zone or $22 for the ABC Zone comes up and you pay either with your HOP Card (if you have credit on it), cash, or EFTPOS (including credit card). Once all done your AT-HOP card is loaded with the Day Pass for ALL DAY Travel on any public transport service that accepts AT-HOP. Note: please check for the Air Bus Express and Waiheke Ferries on whether they accept Day Passes before attempting to use the pass. I have a feeling they don’t.

Now that your Day Pass is all loaded up you just Tag on and off with your HOP Card as normal.

UPDATE: And the AT Website has a link folks: You can go here: https://at.govt.nz/daypass

You should see this when opening the page (there is still the old Discovery Pass page running at the moment so please check you have the one I have pictured below if you want to know about the HOP Day Pass)

Pretty easy and no fuss.

I had no issues with Pass on my train/bus trip from Papakura to Grey Lynn and back again this morning (for a TV interview shoot on public transport :- P )

Good to see the passes up and running. Still waiting on the Family Pass though that might have saved poor old Duncan some of that $68.20 he paid for his family trip using trains and ferries on Sunday (see: Knackered (Done In) $68.20 for a Family Day Out) on that story.

My AT-HOP Daily Pass Receipt. Sorry on the yellow as I need a new scanner
