Consultation runs 23 January to 16 March
I saw this from Manurewa Local Board Chair Angela Dalton as the 2015-2025 draft Long Term Plan summary document comes off the printers and soon into your letterbox:
On the 23rd January the Auckland Council 10 year budget summary document will be delivered to your letterbox – it will include a one page summary of your Local Board area priorities. It is very important that you complete the feedback form for both the Auckland Council regional priorities as well as your Local Board area priorities but before you do that contact your local board elected members for more information on specific areas such as alternative transport funding, CRL, service levels and rates. I have read the 14 page summary document and the content leaves much to the imagination in my opinion.
Ms Dalton is right with my own thoughts especially around transport made known in my podcast yesterday:
Furthermore I commented the following in-lieu of Angela Dalton’s initial comment:
Talking Auckland will be running the commentary through the Long Term Plan consultation period from January 23 until March 16 to help you make informed decisions. Of course as Manurewa Local Board Chair Angela Dalton has pointed out, contacting your Local Board or even Ward Councillor would be highly recommended to help flesh out the more finer points of the LTP
That is right Talking Auckland will be in the box seat through the Long Term Plan consultation, and Transport Survey periods informing you on the Long Term Plan and what options we really have.
Full commentary starts once the consultation period gets away on the 23rd.
