Long Term Plan, and Interim Transport Package Debated Today

Budget Committee to deliberate next ten-year Budget

Today the Auckland Council Budget Committee (and later the Governing Body) will be deliberating the 2015-2025 Long Term Plan. The Long Term Plan sets out the master budget for Council on proposed expenditure and required revenue streams. The Annual Budget (passed each year) is the implementation tool of the Long Term Plan itself.

So everything from Rates, to transport, to parks, libraries, roads and even staffing numbers is up for debate tomorrow and most likely Friday. Once the Budget Committee concludes the Governing Body will then convene to ratify the Long Term Plan in which it goes operative on July 1.
