“Too Busy To Deal With It!”
While I do not mind getting quoted on transport Tweets I do mind when Auckland Transport says the following:
Auckland commuters to face delays after train disruptions

Auckland train commuters are facing delays on their trip home after disruptions due to a signal fault.
Travellers were reporting delays at Britomart Station, with trains being turned around at earlier stations.
Auckland Transport media relations manager Mark Hannan could provide no information about the delays, stating he was too busy to deal with the situation.
He was unable to provide details of how long the disruptions would last, except to say they were across all lines.
The correct information as of 1645 hours is that while the fault is clear and services resumed at Britomart there will be ongoing knock on effects in the evening peak. The motorway network is not in much better shape with earlier accidents fouling the motorways. That said it might be clearing up in time now to make the evening commute a tad more bearable.
[UPDATE]: Never mind, owing to an incident on the Western Line it seems Auckland Transport and Transdev have suspended the timetable and gone to “manual.” Going to be a long slow tip home folks.
As for Mark Hannan? Unacceptable!
And credit to NZTA for actually getting the initial alerts out on the rail disruption. Thank you.
