More on the Glenbrook Special Housing Area

The SHA does fulfil Auckland Plan requirements

The recent Special Housing Area announcement for SHA’s in Drury and Glenbrook was one that earned reaction of “what the heck” from Auckland commentators. The reason for “what the heck” with Glenbrook as it was considered in the middle of no-where some 68km from the City Centre and about 35km from Manukau City Centre (see: Brown and Smith Special: A Special Housing Area in the Middle of No Where)

A response came through from Auckland Council in their reaction to the commentators’ reactions including mine. Council has forwarded two slides on why the Glenbrook SHA was brought into existence.
