Council have linked a copy for reading
Earlier in the month I asked Auckland Council via a Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act request for the release of the Manukau City Centre Public Domain Manual done by the now defunct Manukau City Council in 2010.
The manual which is 201 pages in A3 size is about 180MB thus too large for Scribd to upload. If you really want to get the manual you can access it through the links here: https://fyi.org.nz/request/2908-release-of-the-manukau-city-centre-domain-manual#incoming-9143
Okay sure there have been a few changes such as the Transport Interchange now sitting at Lot 59 Manukau rather than those Super Bus Stops (which I have asked for information under another LGOIMA request) but for the most part the manual can be very easily implemented once the Unitary Plan goes live in 12 months.
Having looked through this 201 page manual (and a fine manual it is) it can easily supplant the operative but underwhelming Otara-Papatoetoe Area Plan in the Manukau City Centre section. Meaning once the Unitary Plan goes live we already have Manukau and South Auckland’s City Centre Master Plan pretty much written and ready to go (with any adaptations owing to the Unitary Plan done first).
All that is missing and not showing up at the moment is money to get this all going.
Something that will need looked at when the Annual Plan 16/17 comes up for debate next year if we want to move ahead with both ‘The World’s Most Liveable City,’ and have our centres intensify.
