How about some smart planning here
Imagine this under one Manukau Mall Roof:
- Pak n Save
- The Warehouse
- JB Hi-Fi
- BOOM – no need to travel by car to separate sites around a (Super) Metropolitan Centre
Walkable Centre and #worldclassAKL ? I think so!
And given that Manukau Mall is only a short walk to numerous bus stops, the Manukau Rail Station the potential of creating a more walkable Centre especially a touted Super Metropolitan Centre is that much more there.
I find nothing worse than having to get in my car to travel around a Metropolitan Centre (or worse a Super Metropolitan Centre like Manukau City Centre) to get to different shops I want. What I want is the key big retailers in one spot like a mall so I can easily walk between then AND actually enjoy doing so.
This is not about competition (well it might be if close proximity means better prices and customer service) but more convenience and the health of the consumer LIKE ME!
So what say you?
