Err That Going to be a Cycle-Lane?

Something seems a miss

Apparently this stretch of Ponsonby Road near the intersection with K and Great North Roads is meant to be a cycle-lane (that is the piece of road between the white line and the curb):

Is it me or does that seem rather narrow to bring your casual cyclist down that stretch of very road safely and easily? Also any bollards going in to form that extra form of barrier between motorised vehicle and cyclist? If not then installing that lane without the bollards (rather than say going for a share but divided path where most of the cyclists would go) seems rather daft. And no I wouldn’t use that new cycle lane without some sort of physical protect measure either…

Try again please Auckland Transport
