Purpose of position:
The overall purpose of The Southern Initiative (TSI) is to deliver a long-term programme of co-ordinated activity to enable transformational change through community and social innovation in South Auckland. To achieve this, Auckland Council is working collaboratively with an extensive range of both internal and external stakeholders to deliver on the priorities and directives contained within the Auckland Plan.

Well this is certainly interesting that Council is asking for two if not three “Change Agents” after needing a new General Manager last year.
The Southern Initiative has certainly earned attention over the last four years and often not for positive glowing references either. The last post looking back at The Southern Initiative was only last month: City Transformational Project Fallen off the Rails #Auckland2016
But otherwise you can find other TSI posts here:
And when I face my Hearing for the Unitary Plan in September The Southern Initiative will also be brought up as well.
But again I wonder what is seriously going on with The Southern Initiative after so many attempts. We know the following geographies within The Southern Initiative area:
I also know projects through organisations like Accelerating Auckland (bringing digital technology to kids in South Auckland), the news on AUT in Manukau (South Auckland – The CONTINUED Rising Jewel in Auckland’s Crown #BetterAuckland), and our next leaders coming through (Stars Shine Bright in Auckland’s Rising Jewel #BetterAuckland) are all happening and making South Auckland a better place.
But still the Council steering in trying to improve South Auckland per the six priorities and eight directives of The Southern Initiative seems to be continuing in being wanting at best and still not there at worst some three years after the Auckland Plan went operative.
Your thoughts so far.
While you are having a think about it check the job description of this one for the TSI posted last year against the one I posted at the top of the post:
Is it me or are these roles somewhat similar or going to be in major conflict of each other….
